Deogratius Joseph

Deo is 17 years old, and first became involved in GSE when he arrived at Mzumbe Secondary School in 2009. He was elected Club Chair Person by his fellows and by other students at participating high schools in Morogoro. Deogratius is a dedicated student who enjoys science, especially physics. Deogratius, (also know as "Ami") was nominated by his peers to represent GSE students from Morogoro in California. He has traveled to Sebastopol to work with Argentinean representatives as well as local Sonoma County Students. Deogratius has helped to design a Poultry Fundraiser for Mzumbe Secondary school. GSE is working to issue a loan to Ami and his fellow students to implement the purchase of chickens and repair of a large coup. The eggs will be sold in the local community to raise money for transportation, and other resources to help Morogoro GSE participants with their development project goals. Ami is outgoing, motivated, and a natural leader.
