Travel to colonial Cuenca, a pristine cobblestoned gem nestled high in the Andes of Ecuador. Support rural community farm cooperatives in the outskirts of Cuenca, and the local government planting and maintaining trees in a state-wide reforestation project. Visit busy artisanal markets, learn local dance, taste the food of the Andes, and explore nearby lakes, volcanoes, and snow-capped peaks.

Yes, the trip leaders are inspiring because of the way the program came together and was manifested. After working with people here and looking at our progress from prior trips I feel powerful and able to make a change if I put my mind to it.

The trip costs $2,899, including flights.

*Note: GSE has a $500 scholarship for any student at Lowell that requests one, no application necessary. Additional scholarships are available on a need-basis.
